Welcome to Reception

Welcome to Reception at Kestrel Way. Throughout the year we will update our Google Classroom to share information, useful links, newsletters, and photographs of our learning and experiences which we hope you will find useful. 

 

PE days are on a Tuesday and Wednesday for Wrens and Monday and Thursday for Wagtails. 

 

All children will need their own named water bottle. These are kept in trays in the classrooms so they can access them as and when they need to.

 

All children require an indoor PE kit for this half term consisting of - named green shorts and t-shirt (plain or school logo) in a named PE bag. Children with earrings should have their earrings removed or taped up before school.

09:00-09:15 - Assembly

09:15-10:00 - Phonics

10:00-11:00 - Child Initiated Learning or PE

11:00-11:45 - Maths

11:45-12:00 - Story Time

12:00-13:00 - Lunch

13:00-13:40 - Talk4Writing and Literacy learning time

13:40-14:50 - Child Initiated Learning Time

14:50-15:20 - Number Fluency/Music/RE/Discovery Time

 

Our outdoor area

  • Phonics Play Phonics Play is a website that offers interactive phonics games and downloadable resources across the 'Letters and Sounds' phases.
  • Shape patterns Shape Patterns is a sequencing game where you need to complete the pattern of different coloured 2D shapes.
