What we do as Governors at Greenleas

Governance at Greenleas

Greenleas School is fortunate in having a dedicated, committed and talented Governing Board who bring a wealth of experience with which to support the school.  Many have worked with Greenleas for a number of years, supporting us through huge changes, both in terms of the expansion of the school and the changing educational landscape. All governor appointments are subject to an enhanced disclosure check by the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Greenleas Board of Governors is currently constituted of 13 members. The Board operates under the leadership of a chair, vice-chair and with the help of a professional clerk. The FGB meets three times a year and operates with two committees, Quality of Education and Resources.

The role of governor has many benefits, not only can you make a difference to and support the children in your community but it can offer personal and professional development. You can build relationships and networks in your local area and it can also give you the opportunity to use the skills you have developed over your working life.

A good school governor is someone who is passionate about children’s education, open to ideas, likes working as a team, is willing to ask questions, and can commit the time.
