Welcome to Year 2 at Kestrel Way. Please find below key information related to our topics including learning logs and topic leaflets. Our specific class pages have photos and further information.
This half term's 'London's Burning' topic is full of more exciting learning for the children. We are looking forward to going back in time to 1666 and finding out about the key factors which contributed to this great historical event. The children will be designing and making their very own wooden Tudor houses, using a variety of recycled materials and creating their own flame inspired silhouette pictures. We are very much looking forward to taking part in a 'Great Fire of London' workshop where the children will relive the fire itself and imagine that they are a variety of characters, including the baker of Pudding Lane, Thomas Farriner and the eye witness, Samuel Pepys. Following November, the busy and exciting month of December has lots of Christmas related activities in store for the children, including their much anticipated Nativity performance, which we hope you will all be able to attend. Thank you once again for all of your invaluable support.
