Our new topic for Spring 1 is called 'Polar Bears and Penguins'. We began our topic with our polar wow day where we made polar bear biscuits, paper plate penguins and polar bears and had a go at building our own igloo structures from marshmallows and spaghetti. This half term in Science we will be looking at materials and computing we will be coding beebots. Our topic in RE is 'Special Stories' and in Science we will be comparing polar regions with the UK. We have created beautiful polar landscapes in Art which are displayed on the learning street. Our busy half term will finish will our Penguin Parade on the 7th February and please remember families are welcome from 3pm.
Please come and see us at the classroom door if you have any questions.
In Year 1, the children change their books daily if they have finished their book. The children choose their own books and the colour will be checked by an adult. Please support your child by listening to them read at home as often as possible. If they read four or more times in a week they will achieve their clover award.
Thank you for your continued support. If it any time you have any questions please speak to your child's class teacher.
