Our Summer 2 topic is 'Gorgeous Gardens'. We have started our topic with a 'WOW' day planting lots of seeds and plants. In English we will be reading and writing a range of texts based on gardens and plants including 'Jim and the Beanstalk' and 'Oh No Monster Tomatoes'. In Science we will be learning about both garden and wild plants and how they grow, as well as watching plants that we have planted grow over time. In Art we will be creating our own 'Waterlilies' collage inspired by Claude Monet and in History we will be learning about Claude Monet and his inspirational Giverney garden. In Maths we will be learning about Numbers to 100, time, money, volume and capacity, mass and space. We will end our topic with a fab finish garden party to which parents are invited.
Please support your child by listening to them read at home as often as possible. If they read four or more times in a week they will achieve their clover award.
Thank you for your continued support. If it any time you have any questions please speak to your child's class teacher.
