Inclusivity at Greenleas means we provide the best possible learning environment for all pupils with additional needs, including those children with one or more abilities developed to a level significantly beyond their year group. As a Growth Mindset school we teach all our children that they can grow their intelligence by finding the challenge point in their learning, and then revisiting it to strengthen their neural pathways. There are more able children in all our classes and we make provision for them through quality first teaching, which includes broadening/deepening tasks and learning opportunities which require higher order skills. We also provide enrichment or extension activities to promote these skills and talents further.
These are our principles for more able and talented Learners:
Ensure that we recognise and support the need of all our children including the MAT
Enable more able and talented children to develop to their full potential
Offer more able and talented children additional opportunities to extend or deepen their learning
Ensure that we challenge more able and talented children appropriately and extend their learning through the work that is set
