Another Greenleas Milestone

Lady mayoress Karen CursonsChildren from Greenleas School and Willows Pre-school  joined in the celebration of the grand opening of their new Willow Tree building.  Lady Mayoress Karen Cursons officiated by cutting the ribbon assisted by some pre-school children. The new building, which was built on the school site during the summer, opened for business at the beginning of the autumn term.  The lovely new facility provides excellent accommodation for the school’s own before and after school play clubs as well as The Willows Pre-school.

The pre-school was formally based at the Southcott Community Centre and was known as Southcott playgroup. The change of premises has enabled the pre-school to work successfully with the school to provide quality wrap around care for children between 3 and 5 years. The pre-school is also able to take children from the age of 2. Headteacher Stephanie Readyhough said “ Parents tell me that they are thrilled about the new premises and the provision for their children. We are very pleased to welcome the younger children onto our site and look forward to a close relationship with the pre school. Pre-school manager Nickie Davies said “Our new facilities are wonderful and our  pre-school are very happy playing in their new environment”

The Willows Pre-School children had a double celebration on the day - they also held a Pudsey Pyjama Party to celebrate Children in Need. For further details telephone the school or pre-school  on 01525 372898.
