The Early Years Unit - Ducklings and Ducks

Children can start in the Early Years Unit on a part-time basis in the term following their 3rd birthday. The older children attend from 8.45 to 11.45. Younger children attend from 12.45 to 3.30.
Our Early Years classes are called Ducklings and Ducks.
Uniform is optional in the Early Years Unit. The children follow the Foundation Stage of education, learning mainly through structured play.
The Early Years Unit teacher, Sheila Dawson and support assistants Sue Wood, Allie Jefcoate and Kate Young, work together to provide a happy and successful start to your child’s school career.
Learning is always exciting and fun in Early Years.
A busy term in Early Years.
We have been out and about looking for signs of autumn in the school grounds. Then we did some colourful printing with some of the autumn leaves.

In October we made flapjacks to sell to raise money for Oxfam Unwrapped, the charity which provides animals and goods to some of the neediest communities in the world.

Our grandparents came to visit and enjoyed watching their grandchildren teaching them about the Interactive White Board. But we still do ‘old favourites’ like jigsaws in Early Years too of course!. We sang Nursery Rhymes together at the end of the visit. A lovely time was had by all.

Yes, there's always lots going on in Early Years - just look at those busy builders hard at work in the classroom.
