As Friends of Greenleas School, we organise fun events which bring together parents, teachers, our children and others in the local community to raise funds and enhance the educational experiences of each child.
Events are varied ranging from Discos to Magician's nights to Bingo Nights to the Circus coming to Greenleas! Each event is organised with a view to ensuring the children have lots of fun without parents having to overstretch themselves financially.
Every penny we raise buys new equipment for Greenleas which would normally be out of reach through normal school funding. In the past we have raised funds to buy laptops, interactive whiteboards, picnic benches, equipment for the new classrooms and protective matting for outside play areas to name but a few items.
We work closely with our president Stephanie to ensure the money you help us raise is spent in the areas where it is most needed in school. At the moment we are raising funds for more specialised IT equipment that will allow the children to utilise current technologies in their learning environment. We are very lucky to have a dedicated team of parents who are willing to offer their time and ideas to raise money for the school and we are always very pleased to welcome new members and new fundraising ideas.
Getting involved
We appreciate spare time is precious and parents who are involved with FROGS are a mixture of working and non-working parents who help out when other commitments allow. We are happy for helpers to bring along their children when we are setting up / clearing up events though we do keep committee meetings child free! On average we meet every 5 to 6 weeks (term time only) on Tuesdays at 7.30pm in the school staffroom and meetings aim to finish by 9pm. Our meetings are planned well in advance.
| If joining the committee isn't for you but you would still like to be involved then you could be added to our 'helpers list' where we can call on you for help with bigger events such as the Christmas or Summer Fayres. |  |
Alternatively we also support the school where needed for example serving tea at the popular Grandparents Day, helping with crèche for open assemblies or by making floral decorations to be sold at the Christmas Fayre.

FROGS also provide a crèche service for open assembly days run by our qualified, CRB checked crèche leader Kay Fisher. Kay keeps a list of willing helpers for the crèche days and if you would like to add your name to her list please contact her via school. Extra help is always welcome.
If you would like to buy uniform from the school, FROGS member Karen Mahon very kindly keeps our stock up to date and distributes uniform when ordered. Order forms can be collected from school reception.
