Greenleas Year 2 Win Southcott School Tournament

Fourteen teams of year 1 and 2 children played at the Southcott tournament. Greenleas Year Two team played games against Aspley Guise, Heathwood, Ashton and the Greenleas Year 1 team, winning 4-0, 3-0, 3-0 and 4-0 respectively with 5 goals from Owen Merrington and Ryan Smith, 3 from Charlie Waple-Moors and 1 from Kieran Carvell.

They went on to play Southcott and Dovery Down. Both games ended 0-0 and only outstanding defending from Dan Hodey and Oscar Barnes kept the team in contention.

The final was against the league 2 winners, Linslade Lower in a game that they dominated. Merrington scored two quick goals to take his tally to a tournament-best 7 and Smith added the third to seal the win and the tournament.
Harry Eacott, Emily Heale and James Mallord all played well and the whole team should be proud of their performance and for the excellent spirit in which they played.

Well done to our Year One and Two teams who also did very well in the same tournament.
Congratulations also to our year four players who play for Linslade Greenleas Athletico, for reaching the semi-final of the MKDJ7 cup. Sadly their unbeaten run of fifteen games came to an end and they missed out on a place in the final which is being played at Stadium MK.
