Celebrating Success
Children are encouraged and supported to achieve their personal best and there are a number of ways in which we acknowledge and celebrate success.
Merit Points
Merit points may be awarded for work and behaviour that is consistently good or demonstrates personal improvement. A merit certificate is awarded in front of the whole school after ten merits have been achieved. A Gold Badge is awarded to pupils who have received four merit certificates in a school year.
Golden Time
To encourage team working, points are awarded and accumulated each week for class performance and behaviour. When the class has earned 20 points, they decide collectively how to spend their awarded “Golden Time” on a Friday afternoon. Some classes choose additional P.E. time while others choose a specific activity.Success is celebrated in school assembly, and children are congratulated if they have had a personal or team success - for example in a music competition or sporting trophy Full attendance is also rewarded at the end of each term.
