National Curriculum Assessment Results

Achievement of Children’s progress in the National Curriculum is measured against eight levels of achievement up to the age of 14.  Standard Assessment Tests/Tasks (SATS) provide a “snapshot” of a child’s performance in various aspects of English and Maths at a specific time.  Level 1 is the first achieved (typical of an average 5 year old) and it is expected that the majority of children will achieve Level 2b by the end of Year 2 (Age 7).

More detail about the eight levels and information on SATS can be found here.

Greenleas Children’s achievements have exceeded both the National Average and County averages at all levels.

Teacher assessment is carried out as part of ongoing teaching and learning and covers all aspects of a subject.

We are proud of our achievements and the table below shows KS1 results for 2009.

The overall results at the end of year 4 were 23.5, exceptionally above expectation.
Our Year 4 children have once again achieved very good results showing extremely good progress in terms of ‘Point scores’ since their Year 2 results. Our particular focus of maths has continued to show good ‘value added scores’.
